    Court remands 10 #EndBadGovernment suspects in Kuje and Suleja

    Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court have ordered that 9 of the 10 EndBadGovernment suspects be remanded at Kuje prison till September 11.

    Also, one of the suspects, a pregnant lady, has also been remanded at Suleja Correctional Service till the next adjourned date.

    The ruling followed the arraignment of the suspects by the Federal Government following the last month EndBadGovernment protest across the country.

    The suspects were arraigned on six count charged bothering on treason and inciting to mutiny, destabilizing the country, intimidating the president and destruction of public property. When the charge was read to them, the suspects pleaded not guilty.

    Counsels to the defendant moved the oral application for bail on the ground that they are presumed innocent but was countered by the prosecution Counsel stressing that they were charged for offence with Capital punishment.

    The Defence Counsels prayed the court to remand the suspects with the police.
    Justice Nwite in his ruling adjourned hearing of the bail application till 11th of September and ordered that the 9 male suspects be remanded at Kuje Correctional Centre and the female suspect, at Suleja Correctional Service, that has facilities for females.

    Counsels to the defendants expressed satisfaction with the arraignment of their client by the Police.

    Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT handed over 72 bags of cannabis sativa, each weighing 40 kilograms and 4 suspects comprising of 3 Ghanaians and a Beninois to National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Marine Command on Tuesday 27 August 2024.

    The Commander NNS BEECROFT, Commodore Rafiu Taye Oladejo who was represented by the Executive Officer (XO), Navy Captain Mutalib Raji disclosed that the consignments were intercepted on Sunday 25 August 2024 by NNS BEECROFT Quick Response Team. This was sequel to credible and actionable intelligence received by NNS BEECROFT on suspicious activities of some criminal elements taking place around Lekki Beach Axis.

    The XO explained that the effort was in line with the Strategic Directive of Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, to maintain credible presence along Lagos waterways and adjoining creeks to ensure a safe and secured maritime environment for economic activities to thrive. He further warned perpetrators of illicit drugs to desist from such acts as NNS BEECROFT will continue to pursue every criminal element operating within its area of operation.

    The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Bennett Igweh, has Vowed to apprehend and deal decisively with Shi’ite Members responsible for Murder of Police Personnel

    Commissioner Igweh, while addressed journalists in Abuja condemned the brutal attack by members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shi’ite, which resulted in the deaths of two police officers and left four others, including a female officer, unconscious in the hospital.

    Recall that three police vehicles were also set ablaze by the attackers.

    Igweh emphasized that the police did not provoke the attack but the hoodlums attacked officers without provocation saying if his men had attacked them, it would have been a different story.

    He assured that the perpetrators will be brought to justice, just as he vowed that his men will haunt them wherever they are in Nigeria.

    The Commissioner confirmed that 52 Shi’ite members are currently in police custody.

    Two domestic staff of Mrs. Olakunbi Adene, the late CEO of Kitchen Country in Akure, Ondo State, confessed to causing her d3ath

    One of the suspects revealed that he, along with the Driver & a Personal Assistant & another friend visited their boss’s house on that fateful Thursday.

    Mrs. Adene had prepared a meal for them, which they ate before descended on her. They g3gged her mouth & used 2 large c¥tlasses they had brought to sev3r her head.

    The generator was running between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., and its noise masked the sounds of the attack. They covered her head with a duvet and continued h3tting her, sev£ring her wrist and leg. The other two suspects used kn#ves to st3b her stomach, chest, and breasts, causing her intestines to spill out and leaving her body covered in sc3rs.

    To cover their tracks and create the impression of a fire accident, the suspects lit the gas in the kitchen with matches, opened the gas cylinder, and attempted to make it explode. However, the gas cylinder did not explode as planned.
