Former Lagos Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation
and APC Stalwart, Kemi Nelson has died,aged 66 thesnooponline.com.ng has learnt.
A Twitter post by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Gboyega Akosile and cited by our correspondent reads in part: ” We lost a dear soul to the cold hands of death today.Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson, former Southwest Women Leader of @,OfficialAPCNg.Rest in Peace.”
Born Olukemi Nelson on February 9th, 1956, Nelson was a politician ,socialite as well as Executive Director of the Nigerian Insurance Social Trust Fund (NSTIF).
She attended Anglican Girls Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode for her secondary education. For her tertiary education, she attended school of Nursing in the University College Hospital Ibadan where she qualified as a registered Nurse and Midwife.She got an MBA in Financial Management and a Diploma in Law from the Lagos State University Ojo
Nelson served as the Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation during the tenure of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and has served as the Women Leader of Lagos State Chapter of The All Progressives Congress (APC) and was later made the South West Women Leader of APC.
