APC Presidential Primaries: Tinubu takes a swipe at Gov. Abiodun
Ahead of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential primaries slated for the weekend, one of the aspirants / former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu took a swipe at the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun earlier today during his consultation visit to delegates in Abeokuta.
In a viral video cited on by our correspondent, Tinubu said in Yoruba: ” Mo ti sin won fun odun to po. Eleyi to joko si eyin mi, Dapo, she ti o ba si emi, she o le je Gomina?” which loosely translates to: “I’ve been serving them for decades now, now I want to serve too. This is about mental capacity. Dapo that is sitting behind me, can he become Governor on his own without my support?”
Although unconfirmed reports has it that Governor Abiodun has preference for another presidential aspirant, it is not clear if this could have informed Tinubu’s statement but political observers are keenly watching how things would play out at the primaries.
The event was attended by the governors of Lagos and Kano States, Mr. Babajide Sanwo- Olu and Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje as well as other party stalwarts from across the country.
