2023: Melaye slams Buhari over plans to pick successor …says statement sacrilegious

Former federal lawmaker and PDP chieftain, Senator Dino Melaye has condemned in strong terms President Muhammadu Buhari over his plan to pick his ‘successor’.

In a viral video cited on his Facebook page by our correspondent, Melaye stated that Buhari can only pick a presidential candidate for APC and not a successor as only Nigerians can choose his successor via an electoral contest. He added that the statement is sacrilegious and can heat up the polity.
